Editorial Review for Whiskey Girl – by Whitney Friedlander
In Short
A relaxed group of ball and brew fans tread across the well-worn brick floor to tall black bar stools and red overstuffed booths. On game days, the crowd bustles in for burgers and pints while they watch the action on the multiple flat-screen TV's hanging over the well-stocked bar. Families and groups fill the booths, while those looking to mingle hang near the bar. Later in the evening, a young 20-something set dances to live music or a DJ.

Insider Tips
What to DrinkIt's called Whiskey Girl for a reason. Get $4 Jack-and-Cokes all day, everyday.
Happy HourThose with offices nearby come between 4pm and 8pm during the work week for $3 wells and drafts and half-price appetizers, such as calamari and chips and salsa.
Know Before You GoThe bar will often open earlier when the Padres are in town.
ParkingYour best bet are the parking structures off Seventh Avenue. They're $3 after 6pm during the week, except for game days.

I like the music videos playing on the TV screens, the DJ and dance atmosphere, as well as the ultra awesome new Karaoke corner in the basement on the weekends . The top 40 music from the 80's, 90's , and today is a plus here. Feel free to take a smoke break, the patio is a great place for people watching!!! That said, time for the bad. Parking wow! But that happens anywhere in Gaslamp on a weekend or weekday. So get ready for parking hell of course. I tried to omit parking form my star rating system. Rating this place was hard. A piece of advice.....get drunk before you get here, the service and price of drinks is ridiculous!!! The food....good luck getting a waitress...hahaha.The seating indoor and out is very very limited even if you get there very early. In addition if you leave an hour before closing the bouncer will not let you back in even with a hand stamp ....downer!!!! The $5 cover before 10:00 on a Sat. was not so bad plus we got free cover charge passes to come back for doing well at Karaoke!!! Can't beat that!!! So 5 stars for the music, dancing, and Karaoke.......only 2 stars for the food, drinks ,and service so i rate this place 3 to 4 stars overall so I put down 3 stars for the lousy parking sorry !!!
Pros: Music vids, DJ, Karaoke, patio for people watching
Cons: food, drinks, service, seating

Ok first of all the Whiskey Girl is an ok bar in downtown...the music is pretty decent, but they do play the same sh*t every weekend. The reason I am posting this review is b/c of the bad experience I had with Jager Bombs. I love Jager Bombs. (I F*ckin' Shower in that Sh*t) So I go up to the bar and ask for three jager bombs. She brings the Jager Bombs already mixed and says, "That'll be 30 dollars please". My response is, "Are you serious?" Wow, what's the purpose of drinking jager bombs if I don't get to drop the bomb? We did the Jager Bombs, and I will have to say that I will never buy another Jager Bomb from the Whiskey Girl Establishment. If I do happen to go back I'll just stick with my usual Jack and Coke. Ohh, and they are a lil' stingy with the liqour. If you do plan on going to Whiskey Girl, I hope your experience is better than mine. (Duces)
Pros: Music is decent...and that's about it!
Cons: The Jager Bombs are premixed and overpriced!
